			<description><![CDATA[ I was working this new year and thought you might like to see some pics taken on new year&#39;s day.  No kilts I&#39;m afraid, they are not really practical if
there is an emergency so I choose to leave them at home.  It does demonstrate however that Christmas, New Year and any other public holiday is just another
working day to those on shift in North Sea Oil and Gas.

			<description><![CDATA[ Catherine and I went to our friends Mark and Joan&#39;s house for New Years. It was a great night, we actually rang in the New Year outside, they havea patio
with a fireplace and a wood burning stove, there were jams going on all night as most everyone there is a musician, I even sang a bit other than Auld Lang
Syne. As usual for one of Mark and Joan&#39;s parties everyone had a great time. Here is what I wore.

with a pic of myself going out in two kilts, three pullovers, four pairs of socks and the overcoat I was lucky enough to find in the charity shop the day
before I took the plane (there had been no need for a coat when I went out in September, and I suddenly realized I had nothing warm for the journey).

			<description><![CDATA[ When I was growing up, most New Years&#39; Eves were spent with the TV playing the White Heather Club, a programme hosted by Andy Stewart, a wonderfully mellow
entertainer of the &#39;old school&#39;.  Stewart died in 1993, far too young, at the age of 60, but he left one fantastic legacy, a song that he just found
himself inspired to write one day; A Scottish Soldier.
