26.43 Clynelish 22 years old 1983 54.4% 247 bottles produced (I got the last bottle!).
4.117 Highland Park 20 years old 1986 51.1% 301 bottles produced.

The Clynelish will be stowed away...the Highland Park is a replacement for the almost empty 4.106 bottle I have.

Today we went for a nice afternoon stroll...and we visited our favorite pub.

In Scotland you expect a nice selection of malts, but "our" pub isn't that bad either.

They have these malts:

-Aberlour 10 years.
-Balvenie Double Wood 12 years.
-Laphroaig 10 years.
-Ardbeg 10 years.
-Glenmorangie 10 years.
-Bruichladdich 10 years.
-Oban 14 years.
-Talisker 10 years.
-Lagavulin 16 years.
-Glenkinchie 12 years....

Cape Breton whisky makers lose round

The Federal Court of Canada has ruled that Glenora Distillers International Ltd. cannot register the trademark Glen Breton, the name of its single-malt whisky. Glenora Distillers has been locked in a battle over the name with the Scotch Whisky Association, which argues the word "Glen" should only apply to whisky made in Scotland.

Probably the whisky with the funniest story ever...those who visited Robertson's cellar will remember it for sure.

Collecting malts from a single distillery

We all envy Robertson for his mind boggling whisky collection, but maybe it's a nice idea for the lesser gods (like me) to collect malts from a single distillery...or just a few.

Less resources needed, no big cellar and I think it's fun. Even from a single distillery there's often a wide range available...not only special distillery releases, but also SMWS, Signatory, Gordon &...

Drinking Scotch

Greetings All,
What is it about scotch that attracts you to it? I have tried several different whiskeys both blends and a couple of single malts,and just cant get past the taste. I am generally a Bourbon drinker and can taste and enjoy the subtilties(sp) of the the different Bourbons. I assume that many Scotch drinkers have the same appreciation for different whiskeys.
Someday I hope to hoist a glass with you!

I know a little bar with 50 sorts of single malts, ex: ardberg17
its La Porte Noire, rue des Alexiens, 1000 Bruxelles
300, 400 meters from the Grand Place, the same from Central Station
they are Guinness on tap and a lot of famous belgium biers if you like
and free concert on thursdays but not all, its a nice place, kilted are welcome of course
but a lot of smoke cigarettes

New whisky aquisition

As I'm in London this week, I thought I'd try to find a nice single malt to take back to Norway. Back home, there's a good selection available, but the rarer malts and special bottlings are usually denied us. I visited the Whisky Shop near St. Paul's, and after some browsing (and tasting) I came away with a bottle of 18 yr. old Macallan and four Glencairn glasses. I'm looking forward to sampling it when I get home!

I popped into my local Whisky shop yesterday,
it's an Aladins cave of Scotch Whisky,
bottles big and small, prices vary from the usual £20 up to £14,000,

I was after another bottle of Quarter cask Laphroaig, but as usual, my mate Andy gave me several others to taste,
