I was lucky enough to find Red and White Diced hose at Hector Russell on sale when I took Alex there earlier in the week, so I picked them up and would like your opinion on them with the Montrose Doublet and Royal Naval Tartan. So here are the photos, what do you think?

Last night I delivered Alex (cessna152towser) to the Toronto International Airport for his flight home. Alex first off I hope you have a wonderful flight, it was a real treat having over for a week, I certainly hope you thoroughly enjoyed your trip. BTW Ham Alex has a package for you. So this morning I went down to Alex's hotel and picked him up, as he wanted to go to a tartan shop to pick up a kilt pin, I took him up to Cairngorm Scottish Imports where we found this most curious display

SOKS at the Canadian Warplanes Museum with Alex

Well today the SOKS went to the Canadian Warplanes Museum in Hamilton with a couple of very special guests, MacMoose (Darren) and cessna152towser (Alex) it was a great day for it hardly a cloud in the sky, I hope you are comfy because this could be a long thread. We all got together and got Alex a membership to the museum and a flight in the Boeing PT 27 Stearman, and he had a great time by all accounts the flight lasted a wee bit less than a half hour. The Museum is a wonderful little place...

At the St. George Distillery -Chasing the Green Fairy

My lovely wife and I went to a tasting at the St. George distillery ( www.stgeorgespirits.com ) in Alameda. Their facility is located at an old Naval Air base.

The distillery is best known for their "Hanger 1" vodkas but they produce other spirits including a single malt whiskey (and yes Robertson the "e" is deliberate) and Absinthe! So with a few kilted friends we went "chasing the Green...

A summer outfit

Here in California most of the Highland Games are held during the hotest parts of the summer. Highland apparel is obviously designed for a cooler clime than ours. This week I was given a pith helmet by some dear friends and have assembled an outfit inspired by the Highland Military Units stationed in tropical climes. Hopefully this ensemble will prevent me from getting my usual Highland Games sunburn.

As usual Kilts are all the rage up there in that small village close to the Polar Circle.

Around 1430 it was time to leave the office and go to the dinner made in honor of our Master students in Natural Science.
Since it was a solemn occasion, black shirt, off white socks, Sgian Duh with the clan crest and parade shoes was the right thing to wear with the kilt

I was so glad to be able to go to Scottish Country Dancing in the Park tonight, it was wonderful to be back as I've missed a few weeks in a row. It was great seeing old friends and being able to dance. I did not get many photos as I was busy enjoying the dance however I did get a few as I was taking a wee rest.

This Friday is the students wacky annual summer ball in the castle grounds. The wife and myself will be attending as usual .. while there will be dinner suits, long dresses etc, clothes wise - anything goes .. its a great night ... this is what I intend wearing ... I expect the wife will wear a trouser suit .. will post some pics on Sat

Today I went up to my Aunt's house for her 80tth Birthday celebration, along with that my Mom's birthday was last week and my parents 49th Wedding anniversary is next week. It was a wonderful day and there was much to celebrate.

Yes that's who I work for, and a very rewarding and enjoyable job it is too, everybody I meet is happy, on holiday, and loving Scotland,
I am based in the Royal Burgh of Inveraray, and from the shop door you get a good view of Dun na Cuaiche, a hill some 200 meters in height,
and perched on top is a folly in the shape of a watch tower, built in 1748 at the cost of £46.

Every day I advise people how to walk up to the watchtower, what to look out for, and how...

Just had a nice spate of gigs which has allowed me to purchase a further two cilts .... once again they are immaculate and both fit perfect ..
The first is a Grey Spirit 16oz 8yd wool .. ex hire

And the second is a Monarch of the Glen 13oz 8yd wool .. This cilt is in fact brand...
