Given that this thread is really about discussion of a product by a forum sponsor (and a very interesting product it looks too...) it should really be in

I noticed this morning that my first hemp RKilt is showing some wear, but I've worn it almost daily in hard working conditions for over two years. I has a
few paint stains but for what it's done, it is in remarkable condition. I like the black hemp for work, it doesn't show the dirt so much.

This is getting under my fingernails again.
I recieved a mail from Robert this weekend saying my new kilt is in the post. .. (star trek has some good ideas ...beaming for example ... well it's easier than jonesing :-) Anyway... my Mach 5 is on it's way ... now what'd really intrest me is which of you guys (perhaps girls ...:-) already have a Mach 5 ...and if you do ...what about posting pics ... or am I going to be a mach 5 virgin in europe (to be honest I haven't been a virgin for years). ..and if this is case I hope you don't know what you're missing :-) ... but when I speak for mysel I can hardly wait ... so ...what are you waiting for? ...my review perhaps? ...well ... it'll take another week and then customs ...so make it another three weeks ......and then perhaps ...if I think you're curious enough (and if the missus plays along) i'll post a few pics ... If you can't wait that long give Robert a Bel (hehehe i'm a poet ..Bel..Pel.. Seamus eat your heart out. Ro |

Guess what arrived ...yes it did ...and I wasn't expecting it for at least another week
... and this time there was no issue with the customs. I'll get the pics up as soon I I get some taken :-) Anyway for a start the first thin I noticed is that the mach 5 isn't nearly as heavy as the r-kilt. The r-kilt fits snugger and sits a bit higher on the hip....those of you who have the pleasure of calling one your own will know exactly what I mean when I say the rkilts are snug. The mach 5 sits much more like a pair of jeans, and is easier to move in... not move ...let's say bend over to tie shoe laces... (Robert ...is this the way it's supposed to be? ...I hitched it onethe first time and wore it the way I wear my rkilt but it hardly reached down to the top of my knees so I let it out a bit and wear it now on the hip like a jeans instead of above the hip like I do with my rkilt ...this works fine also. When you wear it of course you notice the difference in weight in comparison to the rkilt so the mach 5 is going to be my "sunny weather" and "dress" kilt. It takes a wee bit of getting used to but the optic and fit are great. What I especially like is the large apron it just looks "smarter". What I won't do is walk around with my hands in in my pockets ... this causes the pleats to flair a bit at the side. It does look much more like a traditional kilt in comparison top the rkilt and freshly ironed (...jep ...managed that this time and it's easier than with the rkilt) It doesn't look very different to a tfck (thats a big compliment for Robert). Also I imagine it'll be easier to sit in a car becaue it only has one strap on each side and no cargo pockets which are ,at least on my rkilt, still a bit siff. So it is a different kilt and doesn't look quite as rugged, nor is it as functional... but as far as contempory kilts go i'd choose this ahead any brand american kilts. Hemp is a great material and easy to look after, the cut as I mentioned similar to a tfck, not a tank but more traditional than an r-kilt. Ironing took longer than with a pair of jeans but thats to be expected, and the swing isn't as heavy as the rkilt swing (which is to be expected because there's less material) but it's a good swing all the same ;-) All in all ... all I can say is what are you waiting for gentlemen,... And Robert, thanks for the great job Ronan

Ronaki wrote: Yep Madonna you are "like a Virgin" There are a few out there some leather ones, a couple of black ones and a natural hemp. They are slowly catching on. But we will have to wait till yours arrives for the reaction in Europe.....Hopefully it doesn't get hung-up too long in the shipping process. May you still have fingernails when it arrives Cheers Robert

Ronaki wrote: It got there quick! This is good. I just got back from Toronto buying some bronze leather for a mach 5 kilt.. Yes you are to wear it like a pair of jeans. so as long as it fits comfortable and is touching the top of the knees you're OK. Glad you didn't have issues with customs, it could have been that I sent it small packet air instead of xpress post. Enjoy Robert
