G'day..Just. like John  you make some excellent points...which are more than fair.....I read a forum the other day that prompted the concept of marketing kilts on the back of the disgraceful arttitude of a members friend  who vilified him for even suggesting to wear a kilt..This bloke obviously had no understanding that a kilt is NOT a skirt in any real way and shouldn't be treated as such. I began to think that maybe kilts need to be marketed better as a REAL ALTERNATIVE to convention and as proper men's clothing hence the forum topic..Possibly then blokes like the members 'friend' might start to understand why some like kilts..Without a genuine kilt outfitter , none here for example , easier retail outlets point might allow access a bit better is all.As you both rightly suggest though decent sales for kilts would proclude it anyway and a speciality  would be less so....Maybe in the fullness of time ,kilt wearer numbers will increase naturally because there's nothing quite like one is there?  Appreciate both yours and John's well made points...Cheers Tasmac (Rod)
