G'day John , Paul Henry and Mipi, THANKYOU.....Didn't want to stuff it up when there's great advice/ tips from you to be had. It's brand new and was a Christmas gift according to the sellers message back to me.
It was bought for her father but was just too small too small . So they've got a second larger one and hoped to sell on this one...Starting bid was the only one (mine).
Almost felt guilty , listed as "used" but it was only tried on once...that's it.. GOT A BARGAIN... As it fits perfectly as per waist...the only thing is that it falls too much
for me below the knee and I'll be rapt if I can re hem to top of knee as I prefer....hence you guys valuable advice required... We don't have any kilt outfitters
anywhere close so thought I'd contemplate myself.. As per selvedge.....I take it , once that's snipped away ,the only option is to upturn stitch like standard hemming ..
John , never took much notice before as I only have four traditional kilts excluding this one...but two are hemmed and the other two are selvedged...... Paul Henry and Mipi..Do I use really close stitching so as not to bugger up the pleats...and expect I'd need really clean cutting tailor quality scissors perhaps..?
That's the only trouble....alterations can be a pain in isolated areas for this type of gear but a bit like my other passion , model railwaying , "the fun is in the journey" building
your layout...CHEERS and THANKS again....Tasmac (Rod)
