Readers; I have been poking about looking at "Hunting"style sporrans-the ones with the arc metal top; and not a leather flap- All the ones I have seen(&the Paki. one I own)--all have just one frame in front for show and a dumb snap/strap to close on the back, the back frame is covered in the leather of the sporran body. These things were 1st made to close with two posts and two frames(the 'back' frame was a plain version of the front-to wit--if the front panel was brass with mermaides in kilt skirts, the back would be plain, polished brass.) If I am WRONG someone let us/me know. Thoes readers who are old enow will remember the small change purses that were sold with this type of snap post. I have such a purse, it has three interior compartments, & snap closes with two posts--what a great format for a sporran-if I could 'mug a Wall St. embezzler-Oops- businessman'.for the money to order one custom up!! Does any one make these things the 'old way' any more? I did not see any on the Google Search.
